CAPITOL CATERERS ESWATINI OPENS STATE OF THE ART PREMISES IN MATSHAPA
The industrial catering company has recently invested over E7million in new offices, a retail canteen, ration packing warehouse and central distribution kitchen.
Speaking at the opening of their new premises at King Sobhuza II Avenue on Wednesday 10 July; group Company Chairman, Mr. Giles King, said this investment was made as a result of a growing economy , increased business opportunities and especially as a desire to continue to re-invest and expand in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
He emphasised that “Capitol Caterers Eswatini” is a fully registered and Eswatini based company. (It is NOT a South African company operating in Eswatini.) Profits and dividends are distributed in the Kingdom of Eswatini, which contributed favourably to the company’s financial sustainability and commitment to the Kingdom of Eswatini. The opening ceremony of these premises is a further example of this commitment.
While a minority shareholding is still held by a South African company, which helped originally to start this Eswatini company; this connection is now only to assist with some support services and cash flow, when required. This includes specialist services such as staff training, dietetic services, etc.
King added that the company is a major employer of the Swazi people and all employees, both management and staff are Eswatini nationals.
In 2005, 21% of the company’s shareholding was given for free to these employees in the form of a staff trust. The purpose of the trust is to empower employees and reward them for their service and commitment to the company. The beneficiaries of The Workers Trust receive annual dividend payouts which further enhance both their own and family’s well-being.
“We are proud to work with local businesses in the sourcing of all our basic requirements and produce, both consumables and non-consumables . We are inspired by the confidence of the Eswatini people and its economy,” concluded King.
The new premises were officially opened by The Honourable Manqoba Khumalo, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry who also delivered the Keynote Address.
Prince Gija was in attendance and delivered the Opening Address.
